About the event
2024 sees the anniversaries of some of the towering figures of Romantic choral music: Charles Villiers Stanford, Edward Bairstow and Anton Bruckner. In this cappella programme, the critically-acclaimed Luceat choir bring together some of their finest contributions in the stunning surroundings of Suffolk’s great wool churches. This densely contrapuntal music fuses the archaisms of the great Renaissance composers with profound Romantic sensibility, yet thoroughly anticipates the advent of the modern era.
